Did you know that keeping track on things is one of the things that can help you with obtaining a healthy lifestyle. If you start with keeping track you make yourself aware of the things you do and eat. And it is a great way to help you with procrastination. When you start with keeping track start off with your goal. This makes you think about where you want to go. When you start your journey of a healthy lifestyle get yourself on a scale. Write your weight down and take some measurements of your body.

  • Chest / measure under your armpit at chest height, keep your arm relaxed to your body.
  • Arm / measure halfway your upper arm, keep your arm relaxed to your body.
  • Waist / measure between your last rib and top of the pelvis.
  • Hips / measure the widest part of your hips and bottom.
  • Thigh / measure the widest part of your thigh.
  • Calf / measure the widest part of your calf, relax your calf when measuring.

Support in time of need

Putting things in writing makes it real and can support you in time of need. When you keep a diary of what you eat and drink during the day you can assess it daily and at the end of the week you can see how great you did or where you went wrong. When you are aware of things you are more likely to stick to the changes you want to create in your life.

Make a meal plan

Making a meal plan for a week can help you out when you are in the habit of not eating regularly or when you skip meals. You have something that you can fall back on and it will help you create structure in your eating habits. Start off with planning the main meals and decide if you want to have snacks in between those meals or not. Make sure you stop eating at least two hours before bedtime. When we sleep our metabolism slows down and there will not be enough time to digest everything. If you’re already in the habit of having a snack before bedtime change it over to some nuts or some yoghurt.

Keep track of your activities

Write it down when you did exercises. This helps you to see even more change in your lifestyle. It does not need to be a tennis match or a 60 minute run. It can be just a 20 minute walk with your dog or taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Just write it all down. Believe me when I say it will help to gain focus and success.

There are several ways to scale up your health and it doesn’t mean you have to go to the gym every day. Once or twice can’t hurt, (okay, if your personal trainer gives you a workout that is epic it will certainly burn), but getting yourself off the couch and into action is the first step. Changing just little things like taking the stairs instead of the escalator in the shopping mall, going for a walk after diner. Maybe even getting a dog from a shelter or find a senior neighbor with a dog you can take for a walk.

Where is the love

Food has a different meaning to everybody, but it is important to look at your relationship with it. People tend to use food as comfort or replacement for genuine contact and love. I’ve just learned about a great TED Talk from Johann Hari who was hoping to find out why our ways to support an addict are no longer the way to go. As it turned out, the best way to help an addict is to be present in his or her life. In addition tell them over and over again that you love them, and most of all how you want to be there for them. Give them a job and not rehab.

Don’t get me wrong, not everybody has an issue with food or has an eating disorder. And I merely want to make you look at your relationship with it. Because, when you decide to choose the right ingredients for a meal and healthy snacks it doesn’t have to be so hard. Yes, if you eat to feel good try to find the reason you just cleared this bag of potato chips. Write down why you felt like eating and how it made you feel. This can give you so much insight in your own behavior. It will also help you making the right choices in the future. When you just eat and have no remorse about it don’t worry if this happens once or twice. Make sure this doesn’t becomes a habit, because it will lead to those extra unwanted pounds and have a negative affect on your health. Change your food, change your mood

Did you know that what you eat can change the way you feel. When you eat a lot of sugar this will affect your energy levels. They will peak upon intake but plummet twice as hard and makes your brain feel like it is ready to shut down the factory.

Furthermore the sugars take their toll on your brain, it can make it harder to learn and remember stuff. The fructose can interfere with feeling filled up after a meal. It can even hinder the repair of collagen and this will lead to premature wrinkling of the skin. Excess sugar is stored as fat. Your cells will pay the price. Because the regeneration of your cells will take longer. Does this mean you are not allowed to eat any sugar, NO! There are natural sugars in a lot of fruits and vegs. They will help you feel good if taken in the right amounts.

What if you can live a healthy life by just making these simple adjustments in your life. Here you will find some tips that will help you on your way to a better Health.

You don’t have to spend hours in the Gym to  better  your Health

You would love to be energetic and up and not running on empty around noon. But you don’t have the time to spend hours in the gym. Don’t worry there are is an easy way to get more energy and more out of your day.

As a mum and Entrepreneur is it hard to get work done. Taking care of your family, keep the house clean, tidy up and go to the gym. But when you lack energy because of making the wrong choices than it’s even harder work.

So when I felt enough is enough and I had troubles getting out of bed in the morning I started to look online to find some easy steps to change my lifestyle into a Healthy lifestyle . So I would have more energy during the day and finally get things done.

I was determined to try every strategy I could find and was even prepared to pay for it. First of all I tried losing weight, but run low on carbs also meant running on empty for me. Than the snack would look very easy and appealing. And I found out that I would gain even more weight when I stopped this diet.

Next up squeezing in trips to the gym and reduce calories to under a 1000. Sounds logical but when you notice you have trouble getting up in the morning because of all the energy you have  used the day before, things are not working right for you.

So what would be a way to better your health and get startedhealthy living, life, happy

After trying all the things that did not work for me I found a system what works for me. It is easy to start and continue doing and it led me to the results I was looking for.

  1. Plan your day. This sounds easy but when you plan your day and give yourself a treat every day you will be happy getting up and going because there is something to look forward to. Now the treat does not have to be something sweet or a present, but it can be scheduled time to take a bath with a nice book.

  2. Start your day with a luke warm glass of water this will help your body to wake up and rehydrate.

  3. Start your day with a happy song or set your alarm clock with your favorite song.

  4. Now for long term success you need something that is easy to stick too, what shows quick results, let’s you do and eat the things you love without spending hours in the gym or starving.
